Raki Sahai
Principal and Financial Coach, FiscalSense
With a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an extensive background in both reservoir engineering and advanced financial analysis, founding member Raki Sahai brings a unique perspective to his participation on the Oklahoma Financial Educators Council Advisory Board. After earning his Bachelor’s in Adelaide, Australia and a Master’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines, Raki began a career that moved through progressively more responsible technical roles into corporate finance and complex financial analytical modeling. After attaining professional licensure in both finance and insurance, Sahai transitioned into the personal finance arena – launching his current business, FiscalSense, as a company dedicated to providing high-quality financial education resources and actively campaigning for financial wellness in Raki’s community and across Oklahoma.
Raki Sahai credits his own personal experience as an immigrant to the U.S. in the late 2000s as the impetus behind his passion for financial wellness advocacy today. He is currently enrolled in the NFEC’s Certified Personal Financial Wellness ConsultantSM training with an expectation of completing the certification in 2026. Raki has a profound understanding of the cultural and socioeconomic barriers to financial well-being typically encountered by first- and second-generation immigrants, which also reflect the common challenges all Americans face when they lack basic financial education. His future objectives prioritize helping Oklahoma families avoid economic hardship and guiding them toward building and protecting generational wealth.
Sahai resides in Oklahoma City with his wife, a locally practicing physician, and their two children. He feels deeply invested in the well-being of his community and neighbors, and hopes to use his participation on the OKFEC Advisory Board as a springboard to make financial wellness initiatives accessible, sustainable, and scalable across Oklahoma and around the country.
